It’s time to share what I have been up to lately.
It’s time to share what I have been up to lately.
You know the title of my blog post today is what every person says at the beginning of the year. We all have a vision for the new year and many people make resolutions that by the 15th of the month are a thing of the past. Well I am not like every one else so I am declaring my new year, new me mantra today! Well not really, I actually began the year with this idea in mind and it has already been a long 15 days. I started the year with a 21 day Daniel Fast that I am in the midst of now as this will be my 3rd week starting today. I have been vlogging over on YouTube as I feel like this is going to be the year that I am going to push through my insecurities and finally get myself to a place of consistently eating healthy and exercising. The idea is to start the year off by consecrating myself to the Lord with the Daniel Fast and then continue to allow the Lord to guide me in my food choices and my exercise routine. I invite you to come over to YouTube and follow my journey.

I have been away for a week as I needed to step away from the distractions of the online world. I have been so tired and just barely able to keep up with my necessary daily functions. I found out today that my vitamin D level is very low so that’s why I have been so fatigued.
I am so thankful to have an answer!
I was also pleased to learn that my A1C is the lowest it has been since I was diagnosed with diabetes. In March it was 9.4 and now it is 6.6. I know it will get much better when I am able to get back on my health journey again. My food and water intake has been good but I need exercise in my life again.
It will happen! I am confident because I am inspired by my progress. Now I just pray Lord heal me by raising my vitamin D levels so I can stop taking naps every few hours. In Jesus Name, Amen!
I’ve shared that I have been battling fatigue and I finally have a doctor’s appointment scheduled. My day 10 was a full day of activities including work and helping others. I was exhausted! Thankfully I found that the scripture that says “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13) is true. I am relying on that strength to continue to get me through each day this week. I am also relying on the Lord to give wisdom to the doctor in what to do for me whether it is adjusting my medication or running blood tests. I know that I am in the Lord’s care. I am thankful that He is in charge of my life and I submit to all that He has in store for me.
What are you thankful for today?
Psalm 105:1 NLT says, “Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.” I could fill pages upon pages of testimonies to what the Lord has done in my life. I am convinced that I am alive today only because of His mercy and grace. I’ve done nothing to deserve it and I will forever give Him thanks.
Today has been another day of fatigue for me but I am working on getting back on track with my goals. It is going to take hard work and consistency for me to be successful. I already see one success that I haven’t really paid attention to and that is the fact that I am not giving up. I am not beating myself up for not following through on my goals which is huge for me. I used to be awful to myself. It really doesn’t help nor is it any kind of motivator. Proverbs 24:16a NLT says, “The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.” I may trip or I may fall but I will get back up and keep walking in this journey. I just give thanks to the Lord for teaching me every step of the way.
What are you giving thanks to the Lord for today?
Today’s blog is the result of a post I made in an accountability group I am involved in on Facebook. I believe that it is good for you to read as well since I have a suspicion that if you are reading my blog today that you may be on your own journey to health and wellness. So the following is for you too!
“For the land that you are entering to take possession of it is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and irrigated it, like a garden of vegetables. But the land that you are going over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water by the rain from heaven, a land that the Lord your God cares for. The eyes of the Lord your God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.” Deuteronomy 11:10-12 ESV
I believe we can pull application from these verses for our journey to healthy living. Some of us are literally entering new territory, our journey is beginning and we have come from places of bondage and defeat. “But the land that you are going over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water by the rain from heaven, a land that the Lord your God cares for.” Can you see what that looks like for you today?
There is a land of hills and valleys ahead which means that we will have our ups and downs, we will have our days of victory and our days of weakness but what does it say? The Lord your God cares! Oh hallelujah! Can you sense the joy in the journey?
The next verse says “The eyes of the Lord your God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.” Oh sisters our God is watching over our journey. He is watching over the land we are entering into not just today but from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.
We are set up for success! We just have to allow the Lord to guide our footsteps and keep our eyes fixed and focused on Jesus! We cannot look back to our own personal Egypt because there’s no room for us there anymore. When things get hard while moving forward push through! Push through! Why? Because we are not to go back to the land of defeat and bondage. Amen?
